Seiko is delighted to unveil a new chapter in its celebrated Presage Cocktail Time series, with the launch of the ‘The Conte’ Limited Edition, a sophisticated and richly detailed timepiece created exclusively for the Australasian market. Limited to 1,000 pieces, this latest timepiece pays tribute to one of the worlds most iconic aperitifs, the Negroni, and celebrates the rich craft and ritual behind both fine watchmaking and mixology. 

There is natural synergy between Seiko and the heritage of the Negroni. The two are timeless symbols of craftsmanship and enduring style. Just as a Negroni balances the perfect proportions of the three ingredients with precision, so too does Seiko refine every component in its timepieces with craftsmanship, heritage and innovation. First introduced in 2010, the series draws creative inspiration from cocktails served at sophisticated bars, brought to life by Japanese bartenders who share the same reverence for craft and ritual as Seiko’s watchmakers. Each model in the cocktail time series is distinguished by finely textured dials, smooth curves, and carefully selected colour palettes. The Conte continues this legacy, embodying the richness and depth through an elevated design.

The visual centrepiece of the watch is the captivating deep red dial, a tone directly inspired by the bold character of the Negroni. The hue captures the drinks unmistakable presence, while shifting subtly under lighting, just as a well-made cocktail reveals new depths with each sip. Adding to the richness of the design is a distinctive dial pattern, drawn from the intricate detailing found in traditional Negroni glassware. The dial is framed by slender hour markers, contributing to the watch’s refined aesthetic. The story has further been brought to life with the help of Conte Sydney, the city’s first dedicated Negroni bar. In celebration of the launch, Conte has created a bespoke ‘Seiko Negroni’, featuring an exclusive cherry blossom-infused vermouth ‘Mancino Sakura’ that fuses Japanese culture with Italian cocktail tradition. The Sakura-infused element introduces a delicate floral character that evokes the essence of Japan’s seasons, subtly transforming the profile of the classic Negroni. Conte has also played an important role in inspiring the nickname of this Limited-Edition timepiece, “The Conte,” with the bespoke Seiko Negroni’s rich red tones directly attributed to the colouring of the Presage Cocktail Time dial.

Powered by Calibre 4R35, the timepiece is complemented by a refined brown leather strap and a rose-gold-coloured case and folding clasp, creating a sophisticated contrast that enhances its versatility. The exhibition case back is engraved with “Limited Edition” and the serial number, allowing the wearer to view the movement in action. 

Each limited-edition watch comes with a special presentation timber box designed in deep red, making it a perfect addition to any watch collection.
